I’m back from sunny Florida and glad of it! Who in their right mind likes 72 deg days in November anyways!
The people down there are just rude! I wearing a short sleeve shirt and while I’m talking to them in their coats they are cussing at me for bringing the cold air down! Huh!

Monday some of us participated in a Hockey reality check. Thanks to Neil and Dean we are made to feel Thankful for the league we play in!
We may not be as talented as they are, but by golly we have more heart!
It was fun and we will probably try this again next year! Need a little recovery time! Ha-ha!

SUB LIST 08/09

Last Thursday the White Team whipped the Dark Side BAD! I think Mike W was on the take! I would call it a “Manny”! Ha, ha!
Monday the Dark Side strikes back and the butt whipping was as ugly as Thursday!

New Rule: When the score between the two teams reaches a five goal difference. The team that is winning will skate with four skaters! If the score continues to go up then another skater will have to come off! As the score differential becomes balanced then both teams can skate at full strength. I call this the Obama Hockey plan! Ha-ha!
Failure to obey this new rule will result in a BEER penalty on the winning team!
I call this the Homer Simpson Law! Beer me! Ha-ha

Monday Night has First Night!

Monday night was fun! It’s nice to see everyone again!
I hope you all had a good laugh as I flopped around between the pipes! Hey I gave it my best and I don’t mind brining some humor to the league!
Speaking of humor, Hooters is celebrating their 25th year anniversary and I would love to see a Hooters come to Glens Falls! They have sent me a few photos to help promote the restaurant!
You know the economy is really bad when some of the Hooter girls just refuse to retire!

Is there a Doctor in the House?

The season has started and MAN am I out of shape!
The Lack of Summer Hockey has most of us on an even keel!
What was funny about the first night, was the last half hour everyone was moving in slow motion! HA,ha!
The White Team takes the first one 5 – 3!

A young woman was in the hospital, recovering from major surgery. She hated being stuck in the tiny little room all day and to make matters worse, the daily routine was starting to get to her. Every morning, for example, the nurse would bring her breakfast (which always consisted of an egg, piece of toast, and glass of apple juice). She would then return a little bit later to empty the urine bottle. And so it continued...

Finally, one morning, she decided to have a little fun. She ate the eggs and the toast, but went to the bathroom where she cleaned the urine bottle out, then poured the apple juice into it. When the nurse returned later that morning, he took a look at the bottle and a frown came over his face.

"Obviously, you enjoyed your breakfast, but something must be wrong because this looks a little cloudy," he said, pointing to the urine bottle.

"Oh, really?" she replied, picking up the bottle in question and putting it to her lips. "In that case, we'd better run it through again..."

Summer is OVER! Adirondack Over 30 Hockey 2008/09 Season Begins!

A female Olympic swimmer was talking with one of her team mates about using steroids. She claimed that she was going to quit taking them because she was growing hair in scary places.

Hello Everyone,
Let me start with I hope you all are having a good summer! Lots of Beer and Barbeque!

Now let’s get down to business! I have scheduled 4o skates with the Civic Center. On 11/24 this will be an open skate with a sign-up sheet. (Over 3o vs. Neil & Dean Team )
There are 20 Monday nights and 20 Thursday nights. Time 9pm - 10:30pm. On 1/15 Thursday the start time will be 9:45. Also one Thursday night game will be played on 12/22 Monday. I wanted to provide 20 games for both nights and this is the only way I could do it.
Full Time Players will pay $500.00
Half Time Players will pay $275.00
The First week of hockey will start on October 2, 08 and October 6, 08.
No letters this year! Please spread the news around and have people check the blog for information.

Please send me ½ of the fee (Make checks payable to Adirondack Over 30 Hockey) to reserve your place as a Full Time or Half Time Player. Half Time Players need to inform me of the preferred night (Monday or Thursday).
Full and Half Time spots will be filled based on my receiving notification and payment.
Start sending me this information and money as soon as possible.
When all of the spots have been filled I will put your name on the Sub List.
The old timers have first priority to the Full and Half time pots.
Openings during the season may occur and I will fill the openings with people from the Sub List.
The Balance will be due on the first week of hockey (Oct 2, and 6 08).

Over 30 Hockey Subs:
The fee for substitute players will be $15.00 per skate.
Full and Half Time Players should use the posted Sub List.
All subs need to find and pay me at the beginning of the skate.
Ideally, if everyone uses the list and arranges for their own subs, we will have full strength teams on a regular basis. Also you will get back $10 to offset your losses.

This is New for this year. NO ONE WILL SKATE AT THE CIVIC CENTER until the ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE form is signed by all of you! I will have the forms there at the first skates and for the rest of the year for the subs to sign as they are needed!
