CHET -- THE CHRISTMAS PARROT
One day a husband decided to go to a pet store and get his wife a bird for Christmas. He knew she loved animals, birds in particular, and decided this would be the perfect gift for her.
He goes to the pet store and asks the manager if he has anything special in the way of birds. The manager tells him that in fact he does, it's a bird named Chet who sings.
The guy is very interested and asks to see Chet. The manager brings him over to a beautiful bird and tells the husband that this is Chet. The husband asks what is so special about him and the manager tells him that Chet can sing, and that he'll show him.
The manager then takes a cigarette lighter out of his pocket and lights it a few inches underneath Chet's right foot. Chet begins to sing, "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way..."
The husband says that it was great and asks, "Does Chet sing anything else?" So the manager then lights his lighter under Chet's left foot, and Chet begins to sing, "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know..." The husband is very impressed, sure that his wife will absolutely love this bird, so he buys Chet.
He brings the bird home and presents it to his wife as a Christmas gift. She is very happy and says the bird is beautiful. The husband tells her that the bird can sing, and he takes his lighter and lights it beneath Chet's right foot, and Chet begins to sing, "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way..."
The wife is thrilled and asks if he can do anything else. The husband then lights the lighter under Chet's left foot and Chet begins to sing, "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know..."
The wife is overwhelmed and asks, "What would happen if you put the lighter under both of his feet at the same time?" The husband says that he doesn't know, but they could try it. So the husband puts the lighter under both of the bird’s feet and the bird begins to sing,
"Chet's nuts roasting on an open fire...."

Time to get the season started!

Hello Everyone,
Let me start with I hope you all are having a good summer! Lots of Beer and Barbeque!

Now let’s get down to business! I have scheduled 44 skates with the Civic Center.
There are 22 Monday nights and 22 Thursday nights. Time 9pm - 10:30pm
Full Time Players will pay $500.00
Half Time Players will pay $275.00
The First week of hockey will start on October 1, 07 and October 4, 07.
I will mail the schedule with this letter and for those of you who receive this via e-mail it will be an attachment.

Please send me ½ of the fee (Make checks payable to Adirondack Over 30 Hockey) to reserve your place as a Full Time or Half Time Player. Half Time Players need to inform me of the preferred night (Monday or Thursday).
Full and Half Time spots will be filled based on my receiving notification and payment.
Start sending me this information and money as soon as possible.
When all of the spots have been filled I will put your name on the Sub List.
The old timers have first priority to the Full and Half time pots.
Openings during the season may occur and I will fill the openings with people from the Sub List.
The Balance will be due on the first week of hockey (Oct 1, 4,).

Over 30 Hockey Subs:
The fee for substitute players will be $15.00 per skate.
Full and Half Time Players should use the posted Sub List.
All subs need to find and pay me at the beginning of the skate.
Ideally, if everyone uses the list and arranges for their own subs, we will have full strength teams on a regular basis. Also you will get back $10 to offset your losses.

If you know anyone who may be interested in joining us, share the above information.

Schedule Update!

Mondays have not changed from the original schedule.

We have Hockey tonight 9-10:30pm.
The Civic Center is going to pull up the floor and give us a Hockey night on Wednesday 2/21/07 this week at 9-10:30pm.

March 8,07 is re-scheduled for Wednesday March 28,07 and the Thursday game on the 29th has been pushed to Friday the 30th 8:15-9:45pm.

The second game Over 30 vs LG is scheduled for Wednesday March 21,07 7:15-8:45pm.
I will be making a second sign-up sheet for that night and I think $10.00 a person should cover the cost!

Last Thursday night someone may have lost a cell phone and the Civic Center is holding it for you. It was found in the back parking lot.

Time is flying and soon we will be in our last month of Hockey!
Time flies when you're having fun! Just ask my wife! Done already! HA,ha,ha!

Schedule change for February.

The only change for February will be the skate on the 22nd has been rescheduled for the 21st.
Wednesday night for the same time9-10:30pm.

The Civic Center has an event on March 8th. I will be scheduleing a makeup day at the end of March. I was thinking the last week of hockey would could play a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Still working out the details with Neil and Dean for the LG vs Over/30 game on Feb 28. Just concerned about the lack of USA Hockey Ins and will K&K be accepted! I will keep you all posted. I believe we have enough players signed up for the game. I hope we can do this?

Please check your schedule and take notice to NO hockey at the Civic Center for the last week in February!
If any of you see Rick Cobello in your daily to do's , please tell him Thanks for the Times he played. Never like saying good bye to a Goalie!
Thanks Rick! I hope you had Fun!

Thanks Dave

Two Dark Sides?

A funny thing happened on Thursday!
After the two captains picked their teams they both told their players to put on dark jerseys.
Now Brian and John had to decide who was going to be White!
It all got sorted out and a hockey game began!
I think it should have stayed all Dark! Could have been interesting!
Calling the game would have been a challenge also.
It was a good game and I think the the team color that no one wanted to be Won the Game!

2007 is here and were off to a good start!

I'm sorry for have gotten away from my bloging!
I'm back at it and lets see what is of interest today!
The new year is off and running with the numbers looking good at every skate.
Tom Q has stopped by and with his sons out there skating he entertained us with coaching the white team to victory. John was trying to out coach his Dad until the Dark Side made it clear he's a better Player then coach and the White Team is kicking our ass, get out there!
The games have been good and I can't thank the Goalies enough for the good communication and for being there for the League!!!!!
Happy New Year Everyone!
Oh by the way, I have been doing well with my knees and as long as I can play at least one night a week, I keep running the league!
